Jeff Dunham Atlantic city Concert reviews
Great Show
"I've given that album a chance and I just don't care for it. Mayer has such a robust body of work now, no concert-goer will ever be completely satisfied with his concert song selection - myself included. On quieter songs (when the bass was less loud) the sound was brilliant. Mature Jeff Dunham is a definite must-see. He seemed genuinely humble, appreciative of his fans, and thankful for an amazing career. It was very distracting. Mayer has aged like a fine wine. His voice sounds better than ever. Personally, I think he should have played a few more of his better known songs (e.g., he really overlooked songs from Heavier Things. We were in seats above stage right and the sound was not good. So good for him doing what he wants. Climate Pledge Arena really needs to address that. His voice sounds thinner and more nasally than he sounded at Climate Pledge Arena on March 22nd. Mayer has aged like a fine wine. It's huskier and fuller and age has served him well. It's as if he has grown into his unique voice. Song selection leaned heavily towards Sob Rock. The bass and kick drum were reverberating so much that it drowned-out all the subtleties of the mix. The writing seems forced and there just isn't the magic and lyrical poetry of his earlier work. When I listen to his studio records now, his voice sounds thinner and more nasally than he sounded at Climate Pledge Arena on March 22nd.
